Oles split first two at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. - St. Olaf defeated 17th-ranked UW-Platteville in straight sets before losing a three-set match to No. 22 and host UW-Whitewater in the first two rounds of the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Friday evening at Kris Russell Arena.
Katie Wolfram had 11 and Melissa Burch a season best 10 kills in the sweep of the Pioneers. Justine Dammermann had 25 set assists as the Oles hit .337 as a team in the 25-21, 25-14 and 25-17 victory.
Briana Kaiser had seven kills to pace UW-Platteville.
The host Warhawks held off St. Olaf 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21 in the night's final match. Sofia Sanchez hd 13 and Alivia Holman 10 kills, on 17 attempts (.417), to lead UW-Whitewater. Wolfram had 11 kills for the Oles in the loss.
St. Olaf finishes the event with a match against Rockford tomorrow at 10 a.m.
