Women's cross country finishes second at MIAC Championships

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- The St. Olaf women's cross country team, behind top ten finishes from Maren Westby and Christine Muller, finished second in the MIAC Championships at Como Park on Saturday.

Each of the Oles' scoring runners were All-MIAC. Westby was St. Olaf's top runner on the day, finishing sixth. Muller (eighth), Emma Lee (11th), Becca Bevans (13th) and Sophie Pietrick (14th) rounded out the top five scores for the Oles.

Rachel Dean (17th) and Hannah Dennis (25th) ran to All-MIAC honorable mention finishes.

The Oles finished with a score of 52 from their top five runners. Carleton won the meet with a score of 33, as they placed four runners in the top seven, including each of the top three spots.

St. Olaf won the 2010 Championships with a score of 53. The Oles bettered their score and collected two more All-MIAC awards this season.

St. Olaf will compete for a trip to NCAA Division III Championships at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships on Nov. 12 in Waverly, Iowa.
