Men's hockey gives up two third period goals in tie against Concordia

NORTHFIELD, Minn.- The St. Olaf men's hockey team grabbed a 2-0 lead after two periods but Concordia scored twice in the third period to earn a point in a MIAC contest on Saturday.
After defeating the Cobbers 5-1 on Friday night, the Oles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead at the 12:19 mark of the first period. Junior forward Ross Trousdale scored his second goal of the young season off an assist by Charlie Raskob.
St. Olaf doubled their lead in the middle of the second period on senior Peter Rohn's third goal of the season. Rohn's goal was assisted by Derek Grogan and Raskob. Both of the Oles goals were even-strength.
The Cobbers got back in the game five minutes into the third period. Erick Galt's power-play goal cut the Oles lead to 2-1. Galt's second goal of the year was assisted by Ben Payne and Caleb Suderman.
Concordia completed their comeback ten minutes later on Dan Hrabowych's first goal of the season. His even strength tally was assisted by Mark Johnson and Brian Kang. The teams settled for a 2-2 tie after neither team could break the deadlock late in the third period or in overtime.
The Cobbers held a 39-29 advantage in shots on goal over the course of the game. St. Olaf goalie Ben Leis made 37 saves, while Concordia's Chris Neamonitis saved 27 shots by the Oles.
