Women's cross country finishes 10th at NCAA's

WINNECONNE, Wis.- The St. Olaf women's cross country team finished tenth at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Lake Breeze Golf Club, hosted by UW-Oshkosh.

The Oles were led by junior Emma Lee, who earned All-America honors for her 35th place finish with a time of 21:42.81. Senior Christine Muller finished 66th in 22:05.03. Rounding out the final three times for St. Olaf were Maren Westby (80th, 22:10.81), Rachel Dean (137th, 22:32.91), and Becca Bevans (200th, 23:05.66). The Oles' sixth and seventh runners were Hannah Dennis (202nd, 23:06.27) and Lauren Carlson (238th, 23:32.11).

As a team, St. Olaf came in tenth with 368 points. Washington University in St. Louis had four runners in the top 15 en route to winning the meet with 70 points. Wartburg College, coming off a win at the Central Region Championships, placed 6th. MIAC champions Carleton College finished in a tie for eighth with 341 points.

The appearance at the NCAA championships was the third straight for St. Olaf and the 19th in school history. The 19 appearances are the seventh most by any school.
