RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Fifth-ranked UW-River Falls got an overtime goal from Darion Bruyere to escape with a 3-2 victory over St. Olaf in a non-conference women's hockey game on Tuesday night at Hunt Arena.
St. Olaf (2-3-2) had a 46-save night from Sam Ubl in net. The Oles, trailing 2-0 after the first, rallied for a pair of goals to tie the game on Margot Fleming's goal at the 1:33 mark of the third period. Taylor Orr scored the Oles' other goal at 0:20 of the second period.
UW-River Falls held a 49-23 advantage in shots, but Ubl stopped each of the Falcons 18 in the third period to send the game to the extra period.
St. Olaf is off until Dec. 2 when it starts a home-and-home MIAC series with Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn.
