Oles top Lake Forest 4-1 to complete men's hockey sweep

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Olaf scored thrice in the third period to complete a two-game non-conference men's hockey sweep of host Lake Forest College with a 4-1 win on Sunday afternoon.

Ross Trousdale's powerplay goal at the 8:25 mark of the third period was the game-winner, breaking the game's 1-1 tie. The Oles then added a shorthanded score from Dylan Porter at 13:30 and an empty net finishing touch from Justin Thomas with 15 seconds left.

Derek Grogan had two assists for the Oles, including one on the game's first goal, Jeff Harris' at 5:23. Lake Forest responded 25 seconds later with a Mike Violette goal to even the score.

St. Olaf returns to MIAC play on Friday with the first of two games against Saint Mary's University. The team's play at Northfield Ice Arena on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday in Winona.
