UST late rally gives Ole men loss in league opener

ST. PAUL, Minn. - No. 21 St. Thomas used a late second half run to defeat St. Olaf 72-56 in a MIAC men's basketball game on Wednesday night at Shoenecker Arena.

Stu Neville had 20 points and seven rebounds and Sterling Nielsen 13 points off the bench for the Oles in the loss. Tommy Hannon had 16 points for the Tommies.

St. Olaf led by as many as three in the first half, despite a UST 9-0 run to start the game. The Oles then led 42-41 on a Neville basket with 13:59 left before the Toms rallied.

UST used runs of 11-3 and 17-4 in the next 10 minutes to seal the win.
