Papciak's stops show as Oles tie No. 6 St. Norbert

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf first year goaltender Steve Papciak had 41 saves as St. Olaf skated to a 2-2 men's hockey tie with sixth-ranked and defending national champion St. Norbert College on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
Papciak (2-1-1) made three saves in the extra session and 11 in the third period as St. Olaf improved to 4-1-2 in non-conference play.
St. Olaf had goals from Ross Trousdale and Dylan Porter. Trousdale's score at 9:07 of the first tied the game at 1-1 after St. Norbert took an early lead on a Zach McDonald goal at 5:03. Porter gave the Oles the lead in the first minute of the second on assists from Justin Thomas and Charlie Raskob, who also had an assist on the Trousdale tally.
At 9:32 of the second, the Green Knights (7-3-3) tied the game on a Reid Campbell shorthanded goal from Sam Dougherty.
The game was relatively clean as the Oles and Green Knights combined to go scoreless on a combined seven power play opportunities.
