Pointers edge Ole men 2-1

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Johnny Kenney's goal, his second of the day, with 5:27 left in the third period was the difference as UW-Stevens Point defeated St. Olaf 2-1 in a non-conference men's hockey game at Northfield Ice Arena on Saturday.

St. Olaf (7-4-3) tied the game late in the second period on a shorthanded score from Kevin Harris. The goal was the second shorthanded tally of the day, as the Pointers' Kenney escaped on a feed from Kyle Politz to give UW-Stevens Point a 1-0 lead at 7:41 of the second.

The Pointers (8-7-2) held a 24-17 edge in shots.
