Men's basketball falls short by two as Auggies escape 57-55

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Alfred Jaryan and Nathan Kuck both contributed 12 points, but Augsburg College escaped with a 57-55 MIAC men's basketball win over host St. Olaf on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center.
The Oles were behind by four with 36 seconds left of play when Jaryan hit a three-pointer, leaving the Oles trailing by one. An Auggie freethrow and a last missed jumper by Jaryan cemented St. Olaf's close loss.
St. Olaf fell behind by as far as nine points in the first 10 minutes before rallying and scoring 23 points to the Auggies' nine, ending the first half ahead at 33-29.
Andy Grzesiak-Grimm led Augsburg with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Tyler Schmidt added 15 points. Conner Gunderson had nine points for the Oles in the loss.
