Oles beat Royals to take three points in series

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf picked up a 6-2 MIAC men's hockey win on Saturday night at Northfield Ice Arena to take three of four points in the home-and-home series.

Ross Trousdale and Kevin Harris each scored twice for the Oles (8-4-5, 4-2-2 MIAC), who had a 25-save effort from Ben Leis. Leis improved to 5-3-1 on the winter.

Trousdale, Jack Nicoll, Peter Rohn and Harris each collected first period goals as St. Olaf raced to a 4-0 lead. Bethel inched back with goals from Jake Kogler -- at 18:42 of the first -- and Jon Crouse at 11:54 of the second.

Harris and Trousdale then countered with goals in the first 3:05 of the third period to all but seal the victory and three points in the MIAC series.
