Tommies second period spurt sinks Ole men

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Thomas scored twice in a 27-second span of the second period on the way to a 3-2 MIAC men's hockey win over host St. Olaf on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

With the game knotted at 1-1, UST had goals from Brandon Bahnemann at 7:23 and Rob Philipp at 7:50 to take a two-goal lead. St. Olaf had 26 shots on goal in the final two periods, but managed only an extra-skater tally by Jeff Harris with two seconds left in the third period.

The Toms' Drew Fielding made 31 saves to stay perfect on the year (6-0-0), while Ben Leis had 26 saves in the loss.
