Women's hockey loses at UST

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - St. Thomas used a power play goal in the third period by Jamie Tiede to defeat St. Olaf 2-1 in a MIAC women's hockey game on Friday night at St. Thomas Arena.

St. Olaf opened the scoring on a Nicole Stumpf breakaway goal at 3:19 of the first. UST tied the game with 1:35 left in the period on Kaylee Keys power play goal.

Tiede's score came at the 3:00 mark of the third on an assist from Jenny Saxon. The Oles had just eight shots on goal in the final stanza and the Toms' Alise Riedel made 30 saves to get the win. The Oles' Ali McKeever made 31, including 26 in the first two periods, in a tough luck loss.
