Ole women win 4x400 with Larson on the anchor

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Dani Larson closed a 30-meter gap to win the 4x400 relay on Friday night at the St. Olaf Invite. Larson split a 58.4 on the anchor leg, and the Oles finished four seconds ahead of Gustavus Adolphus, which had the lead with less than 100 meters to go.

Larson also cleared 1.62 to win the high jump and finished third in the 200 in 26.99 behind University of St. Thomas' Erika Tipp and Emily Van Heel.

Emily Stets led off the 4x400 after competing in both the 400 and 200 earlier in the evening. She finished third in the 400 (1:01.7) and seventh in the 200 (27.76).

Moriah Novacinski was second in the mile (5:22.43), third in the 800 (2:24.27) and ran the second leg of the 4x400.

Emma Larson won the 5,000 in 18:25.04, which ranks ninth in school history.

The Oles are off next week before heading to the University of Wisconsin River Falls on February 11.
