RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The women's track and field team competed at the non-scored UW-River Falls' Brooks Classic this weekend. First Year Dani Larson opened the meet with a third place performance in Friday night's pentathlon. St. Olaf also had several top finishes in the middle distance and distance events on Saturday.
Larson's pentathlon was her first-ever. Her score of 2,993 points ranks third in school history, just shy of St. Olaf coach Becky Peterson Ruud's ('04) school record of 3,240 points. Larson also three-stepped her way to a fifth place finish in Saturday's 55 hurdles (9.01).
Sprinter Emily Stets was third in the 400 (1:00.41) and anchored the Oles' winning 4x400 team. Jamie Mosel ran the second leg of the relay and was third in the 600 (1:40.99).
In the mile, Moriah Novacinski clocked 5:18.45 to finish fourth and Kelsey Mullen finished a stride behind in 5:19.95.
Rachel Dean led the majority of the 3k but was out-kicked by UW-Eau Claire's Dana Griepentrog. Dean finished in 10:36.23, less than two seconds out of first place. Teammate Emma Larson finished third (10:43.51) and Becca Bevans was fourth (10:45.28). Maren Westby finished fifth in the 5k in 18:29.84.
