ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bobby Fong was named the MIAC's men's basketball player of the week on Monday, after the St. Olaf senior averaged 24.0 points a game in the Oles' wins over Concordia and Saint John's.

Fong's big week started with a 27-point performance against the Cobbers. The Oles' star added four steals and two rebounds as St. Olaf cruised to an 81-64 win over Concordia last Wednesday. He continued his hot streak Saturday with 17 points, eight rebounds and one steal in a 72-47 win over Saint John's. For the week, Fong shot 16-for-31 from the floor and a perfect 7-for-7 from the line. Over his last three games, Fong is averaging 26.7 points per game while shooting .574 from the floor and this season he ranks fifth in the MIAC in scoring (16.2 points per game) and seventh in made 3-point field goals (1.68 per game) while adding 4.6 rebounds per game and shooting.370 from behind the 3-point arc. With the two wins last week, St. Olaf has now won seven of its last eight games and will look to finish the regular season strong this week. The Oles improved to 14-9 overall and 13-5 in conference play, and currently they sit in third place in the conference standings. St. Olaf wraps up its regular season with a 7:30 p.m. game at Augsburg Monday night, and a 3 p.m. home tipoff against cross-town rival Carleton Saturday.
