Weiss wins again as Oles inch closer to Gusties

MINNEAPOLIS - St. Olaf junior Meghan Weiss won the 200 Free in a NCAA B cut time of 1:51.72, just .17 seconds off the meet record, to lead St. Olaf at the second of three days at the MIAC Championships.

Weiss was followed by Ole sophomore Sarah Kemp in fourth in the event (1:54.77).

St. Olaf now trails leader and favorite Gustavus by only three points, 433-430, into Saturday's final day.

Weiss, Carolyn Bernhardt, Kemp and Katie Kubat capped the night with a victory in the 800 Free Relay, in a B cut time of 7:40.78, which is second-best in school history.

Bernhardt had a NCAA B cut of her own on Friday, as she finished second in the 100 Back in 57.77. Teammate Kubat was right behind in third at 58.49.

The Oles went 4-5 in the 400 IM with Maureen Nicholson finishing fourth (4:43.03) and Megan Laedtke (4:45.03) fifth.
