Gusties spoil night for Ole men with 3-2 OT win

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Gustavus Adolphus College overcame a 2-0 second period deficit and defeated St. Olaf 3-2 in overtime in a MIAC men's hockey game on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

Dane Erickson's unassisted goal at 3:45 of the overtime session gave the visiting Gusties (14-6-4, 8-5-2 MIAC) the victory.

St. Olaf scored twice in a 2:15 stretch of the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Ross Trousdale scored an even strength goal at 2:59 before Jack Nicoll added a power-play tally at 5:14 on assists from Charlie Raskob and Derek Grogan.

Gustavus responded with a pair of Adam Smyth tallies -- at 13:06 of the second and 9:06 of the third -- to tie the game at 2-2.
