ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf first year goaltender Sam Ubl was named the MIAC's women's hockey player of the week on Monday after her 42 saves lifted St. Olaf to a 5-2 win over fourth-ranked Gustavus on Saturday.

The win stopped Gustavus' 27-game MIAC unbeaten streak (24-0-3).

This season, Ubl is 4-2-3 in nine starts and has a .904 save percentage.

The Oles enter the final weekend of the regular season with an overall record of 8-1-4 and an 8-6-2 conference mark. The Oles' 18 points currently have it in the fifth and final MIAC Playoff spot, and it will control its postseason destiny with a series against sixth-place St. Catherine this weekend. The Oles host Friday's game at 7:30 p.m. and will close the regular season Saturday against the Wildcats at Drake Arena in St. Paul at 2 p.m.
