ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf first year goaltender Steve Papciak was named the MIAC's player of the week after he earned two victories as St. Olaf advanced to the MIAC Playoff finale with a pair of wins last week.

On Thursday Papciak came in relief with the Oles trailing 2-1 after the first period in a MIAC first round game with Hamline. He made 25 saves over the final two shutout periods as the Oles held off the Pipers 3-2.

Papciak followed Thursday's effort with a 32-save effort as St. Olaf erased deficits twice and defeated top-seeded and sixth-ranked St. Thomas 4-3 on Saturday night.

Papciak is 4-1-1 in his six appearances with a .920 save percentage and 2.47 goals against average.

St. Olaf will meet Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday in the MIAC Playoff title game in St. Peter at 7:05 p.m.
