ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf seniors Bobby Fong and Stu Neville were named to the MIAC's all-conference team on Wednesday, while first year Sterling Nielson was on the league's all-rookie team.
Neville, now a two-time All-MIAC honoree, was also on the MIAC's five-member all-defensive team. He was in the league's top 10 in a number of statistical categories - scoring (16.9 ppg, 5th), rebounding (9.2 rpg, 2nd), three-point percentage (.458, 1st), field goal percentage (.552, 5th), free throw percentage (.819), blocks (17, 6th) and minutes (33.7 mpg, 4th). He collected 11 double-doubles and was in double digits for scoring in all but three games. Neville finished his career with 1,186 points which ranks eighth all-time at St. Olaf.
The honor was the second for Fong, who finished his career with 1,322 points, which is fifth in school history. He averaged 16.2 points and 4.8 rebounds a night this winter. He had at least 20 points nine times, including a pair of 30-plus point efforts.
Nielson earned the all-rookie team honor after posting 8.5 points a night in the Oles' 16-10 season. He averaged 11.6 a game over the team's final five games.
