North Park sweeps baseball in 2012 opener

MINNEAPOLIS - North Park University swept St. Olaf 4-1 and 4-2 in a non-conference baseball doubleheader early Friday morning at the Metrodome in the Oles' season opener.

Game One: North Park 4, St. Olaf 1
NPU's Steve Kuligowski struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings of work and the Vikings' Kyle Williams was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run.

Sam Maus had an RBI-single in the sixth inning for the Oles, who stranded the bases loaded in the seventh.

Game Two: North Park 4, St. Olaf 2
Nick Soldano struck out 12 in a complete game victory as North Park overcame a 2-1 deficit with three runs in the fifth inning in the game two win.

Jack Schechinger and Maus were each 2-for-3 in the loss for the Oles.
