Softball opens season with doubleheader sweep over Blue Devils

ROSEMOUNT, Minn. - St. Olaf swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from UW-Stout, 6-2 and 2-1, on Wednesday morning at the Irish Sports Dome.
Game One: St. Olaf 6, UW-Stout 2 Maggie Scholer went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs as St. Olaf won the opener 6-2.
Christiania Miller added a 2-for-3 effort and Mackenzie Wolter was 2-for-4 in the win for St. Olaf, which was paced on the mound by Amy Prok. Prok tossed a three-hit complete game victory, striking out six.
The Oles scored a pair of unearned runs in the third before erupting for four runs on four hits in the sixth. Scholer drove in two with her two-out double.
Game Two: St. Olaf 2, UW-Stout 1 Scholer's sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh lifted St. Olaf to the 2-1 win and sweep.
The Oles' Jessica Green scattered nine hits while striking out nine in the complete game victory.
Erin Moss was 2-for-4 in the loss for the Blue Devils (2-4).
