Gusties squeak by Oles, win in four

The St. Olaf volleyball team lost to Gustavus Adolphus College Wednesday night in Northfield 30-28, 30-28, 23-30 and 30-24.

The Gusties have won ten in a row. Their last loss was to St. Olaf on Sept. 4 at the UW-River Falls Invite.

Tara Houlihan had 12 digs for Gustavus, overtaking '95 Gustie grad Katie Olstand for the career record for digs. Houlihan now has 1,045.

Houlihan also served the games last seven points to secure the game and match.

Andrea Otteman (So., Ames, Iowa) had 15 kills and Danica Finseth (Jr., Chatfield, Minn./Chosen Valley) 13 to lead the Oles. Otteman added 16 digs as well.

St. Olaf led in each of the four games, including a 23-19 advantage in game four.

St. Olaf travels to Moorhead, Minn. Friday for a dual with Concordia College, and to St. Joesph, Minn. Saturday for a 3 p.m. match with Augsburg.
