Bats come alive as Oles sweep Edgewood to open Florida schedule

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The St. Olaf baseball team scored a 10-1 and 10-3 sweep of Edgewood College on Saturday afternoon to open the team's 10-game trip in Florida.

Game One: St. Olaf 10, Edgewood 1
Four Oles had two hits, led by Jack Schechinger and Nick Kulla who drove in three runs each. Schechinger had an RBI single and Kulla a two-run double in a five-run first inning.

Brady Sand tossed a complete game, scattering five hits and a walk while striking out four to get the victory.

Dylan Porter and Andy Bartz each went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs in the win.

Ryan O'Dell went 2-for-3 for Edgewood in the loss.

Game Two: St. Olaf 10, Edgewood 3
Sam Maus was 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs as the Oles erupted for five runs in the second and four runs in the fourth inning to complete the sweep.

Joey Voss tossed the team's second straight complete game, allowing three earned runs on nine hits. Voss walked none and struck out seven.

Schechinger went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two walks.
