Softball splits first day in Flordia

FORT MEYERS, Fla. - St. Olaf dropped a 2-0 game to Hamilton College then rebounded with a 9-5 win over the University of New England on Saturday, the first day of the Oles' spring trip.

Hamilton scored twice in the fifth inning on a Sam Miller double and held off the Oles, who were limited to four hits.

Kayla Gronli had a 2-for-3 effort for St. Olaf, which committed five errors in the loss.

St. Olaf 9, Univ. of New England 5
St. Olaf rallied for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat New England 9-5.

Five Oles had two hits, paced by Maggie Scholer's 2-for-2 day. Scholer had a double, run and an RBI to go with two walks. Julie Fergus added a 2-for-3 game, with a run and an RBI.
