Baseball finishes trip 6-4 after Saturday's sweep of Benedictine

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The St. Olaf baseball team swept Benedictine University 3-0 and 6-2 on Saturday to complete its 10-game trip to Florida with a 6-4 record.

The Oles won three of their last four, after splitting with No. 6 UW-Stevens Point on Thursday.

Game One: St. Olaf 3, Benedictine 0
Nick Kulla went 1-for-2 with a homer and sacrifice as the Oles used five shutout innings from starter Jake Schmiesing in the win. St. Olaf had just three hits but Schmiesing and reliever Alex Lampert limited Benedictine to four in the 3-0 victory. Lampert earned a two-inning save.

Game Two: St. Olaf 6, Benedictine 2
Dan Lee was 3-for-4 with two RBIs as St. Olaf tallied two runs in the first, fifth and sixth innings to complete the sweep.

Lampert stayed on the mound in game two, allowing two runs in four innings to get the win.

Kyle Watson worked the final two scoreless innings to get the save.
