Oles get bats going, top Yellowjackets 10-1

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf College baseball team scored a 10-1 win over UW-Superior on Thursday afternoon at Mark Almli Field.

Chris Paradise was 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBIs and an over-the-shoulder basket catch in the gap to lead the Oles, who had season highs in hits (16), runs (10) and sacrifices (4).

Using their pitching staff by committee, the Oles went two innings each with Jake Schmiesing, Kyle Watson and Anders Dzurak and one apiece for Joey Voss, Alex Lampert and Brady Sand. The group scattered six hits and two walks.

Tony Remund was 2-for-4 for the Yellowjackets (9-6) in the defeat.

St. Olaf (7-10) has now won five of its last six as it opens league play on Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader at Macalester.
