Oles lose both ends of MIAC baseball doubleheader with Macalester

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf baseball team dropped each end of a MIAC doubleheader at Macalester College on Saturday, losing the opener 9-2 before a 7-6 walk-off setback in game two.
Game One: Macalester 9, St. Olaf 2 Macalester took advantage of a St. Olaf error in the third inning to score four unearned runs, capped by a pair of two-out homers, as the Scots opened up a 7-0 lead on the way to the game one victory.
Chris Paradise had a 2-for-3 game for the Oles in the loss.
Game Two: Macalester 7, St. Olaf 6 Jimmy Belfont picked up a one-out, bases loaded walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Macalester a 7-6 victory and series sweep over the Oles.
St. Olaf opened the game with six runs in the top of the first inning after a Macalester error and four hits, punctuated by Adam Johnson's three-run homer.
Macalester got three runs back in the bottom of the first and tied the game with a three-run fifth inning.
Andy Bartz was 2-for-3 while Johnson finished 1-for-1 with two walks in the loss for St. Olaf (7-12, 0-2 MIAC).
