ST. PAUL, Minn.- The St. Olaf women's tennis team won their fifth straight MIAC match, and eighth straight overall, by blanking Hamline 9-0 on Monday afternoon at Holt Courts.
The win is the sixth in as many seasons for the Oles against the Pipers, three of which have been 9-0. Caitlin Harper, Julia Ellis, and Kristi Kroker each won in both singles and doubles play on Monday.
St. Olaf got off to a 3-0 lead after sweeping the three doubles matches with wins from Harper and Christine Muller, Kroker and Ellis, and Lizzy Eggert and Andrea Jumes. Harper and Muller continued their perfect start to MIAC play by notching their fifth victory against no defeats in an 8-1 win over Nicole Krier and Cassie Wallerich. Lizzy Eggert and Andrea Jumes improved to 4-1 on the season by topping Elizabeth Allen and Leanna Manthe 8-3.
The Oles completed the sweep by winning each of the six singles matches despite giving Muller a rest. St. Olaf collectively lost 16 games in 12 sets.
