Softball sweeps Saint Ben's

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The St. Olaf softball team rode two solid pitching performances to collect a 2-0 and 3-1 MIAC sweep of the College of Saint Benedict on Tuesday afternoon.
St. Olaf 2, Saint Benedict 0 Amy Prok struck out six against one walk, allowing four hits in a complete game shutout victory as the Oles took the opener 2-0.
St. Olaf scored a run in the sixth and another in the seventh. The run in the sixth came after a two-out error and back-to-back singles from Nikki Frogner and Chris Miller. The Oles' seventh inning run came on a doubles from Natalie Mironov and Julie Fergus.
St. Olaf 3, Saint Benedict 1 Jess Green and Danielle Collins combined to strike out eight as the duo held Saint Ben's to a run to complete the sweep.
Amy Jeppeson was 2-for-2 while Fergus and Miller were each 2-for-3 in the win.
The Oles scored twice in the second on three hits and a CSB error and another in the third on another Blazer miscue.
