Gusties sweep Oles in softball twinbill

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Gustavus Adolphus College swept the St. Olaf softball team 8-3 and 8-0 on Monday afternoon at a windy Mabel Shirley Field.

The Oles' Maggie Scholer hit a two-run first inning homer as a part of a 2-for-4 game, but Gustavus scored eight unanswered runs on the way to the 8-3 game one victory. Gustavus scored five times in the fifth inning on four hits and a St. Olaf error.

Lisa Klass and Kailey Morgan were each 3-for-4 for the Gusties.

Sarah Rozell held St. Olaf hitless until a Chris Miller's leadoff single in the fifth as Gustavus scored an 8-0 victory to complete the sweep. The Gusties had a four-run rally with two outs in the third before adding three runs in the fourth inning.

Taylor Meurer was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and Klass 3-for-4.
