Oles open outdoor season at Wartburg Select

WAVERLY, Iowa - The St. Olaf women's track and field team competed at the Wartburg Select Meet on Friday. Dani Larson led the team with wins in the 400-meter hurdles and the high jump.

Larson won the 400-meter hurdles in 62.70, setting a St. Olaf school record in her first attempt at the event. She currently ranks third nationally. Larson also won the high jump, clearing 1.66 meters (5'5.75").

Emma Lee finished second in the 5k (17:55.93), posting the fastest time in the MIAC and 44th fastest nationally.

Emily Stets finished sixth in the 400 meter dash (60.29).

The 4x800 meter relay comprised of Jamie Mosel, Megan Holmes, Amanda Leone and Moriah Novacinski finished third with a time of 9:36.49.

The Oles will send a team to Des Moines, Iowa, for the two-day Jim Duncan Invitational, which will start at 3:30 p.m. Friday and resume at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. St. Olaf will also send a team to River Falls, Wis., on Saturday for the UW-River Falls meet, which begins at 11 a.m. The Oles will return home to host the Manitou Classic in Northfield on April 21.
