Auggies sweep baseball Oles

MINNEAPOLIS - Augsburg College swept St. Olaf 7-5 and 4-3 in a MIAC baseball doubleheader at Parade Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Game One: Augsburg 7, St. Olaf 5
Augsburg scored three in the first and three in the third and survived a five-run St. Olaf rally to hold off the Oles in game one.
Trailing 6-0 in the top of the fourth, St. Olaf put together four hits on the way to five runs. Adam Johnson delivered the exclamation point with his three-run double with two outs to make it a one-run game.
The Auggies added an unearned run in the sixth inning and sent the Oles down in order in each of their final two at bats to seal the win.
Dylan Porter was 2-for-3 for St. Olaf while the Auggies were led by Adam Carl's 3-for-3 game. Carl had two doubles, two runs and drove in a pair in the victory.
Game Two: Augsburg 4, St. Olaf 3
Brent Kolbow's RBI single in the fourth inning capped a two-run rally, broke a 3-3 tie and proved to be the game-winning score as Augsburg defeated the Oles 4-3.
St. Olaf had RBI singles from Sam Maus in the first, Nick Kulla in the third and Erik Nelson in the fourth. The Oles threatened in the sixth, but went scoreless with a inning-ending double play off the bat of Nelson.
