Tommies sweep Oles

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Thomas swept the St. Olaf baseball team 12-8 and 9-1 on Saturday afternoon at Mark Almli Field.
Game One: St. Thomas 12, St. Olaf 8 The Tommies used a five-run sixth inning rally to come from behind to beat the Oles 12-8. St. Olaf scored four times in the second and led 5-2 after two and 6-5 into the sixth.
The St. Thomas win offset a 4-for-5 effort by the Oles' Sam Mause, who doubled twice and drove in three. Erik Nelson also drove in three as a part of a 2-for-3 game with a homer and double.
UST benefited from a two-out throwing error with the score knotted at 6-6 in the rally and scored four more times in the sixth to take a 10-6 lead. The Tommies' Dylan Thomas was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs and Ben Podobinski 2-for-4 with five runs in the win.
Game Two: St. Thomas 9, St. Olaf 1 UST had a 2-for-4 game from Tim Kuzniar and scored three times in the second and five times in the fourth on the way to the 9-1 win and sweep of St. Olaf.
Ole sophomore Chris Paradise was 3-for-3 and Nick Kulla 2-for-3 in the loss.
St. Olaf committed a season-high four errors that led to three unearned runs.
