Westby wins 1,500 to lead Oles at Manitou Classic

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Maren Westby won the 1,500 in 4:37.96 on Saturday as the St. Olaf women's track and field team hosted the unscored Manitou Classic Invitational.

Westby's time is the fastest in the MIAC this season and 19th fastest nationally.

The Oles had winners in three other events -- Moriah Novacinski in the 800 (2:22.16), Lauren Harn in the pole vault (3.06 meters) and Sophie Pietrick in the 5k (19:04.04).

St. Olaf competes next Wednesday at the Hamline Twilight and then again on Saturday at the Janis Rider Invitational at Macalester College.
