Baseball splits doubleheader with No. 22 UW-La Crosse

La CROSSE, Wis. - St. Olaf scored five first inning runs to pick up a 6-3 victory in game two of a non-conference baseball doubleheader with No. 22 UW-La Crosse on Thursday afternoon, while the Eagles won the first game by the same score.
Game One: UW-La Crosse 6, St. Olaf 3 Adam Cordova was 3-for-4 with three RBIs as UW-La Crosse scored three runs in the first inning and held off the Oles for the victory.
Chris Paradise was 2-for-4 and Nick Denn 1-for-3 with a homer for the Oles in the loss.
Game Two: St. Olaf 6, UW-La Crosse 3 The Oles had three hits, two walks and a hit batter -- while taking advantage of a bases loaded error -- to score five in the first. David Salzwedel delivered a two-out, two-run single in the rally.
The loss was the first at home this season for UW-La Crosse.
The Oles used three pitchers - Stu Martin, Kyle Watson and Joey Voss. Watson went 3 1/3 in relief, allowing a run on two hits. Voss picked up the save, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and a hit.
Sam Maus was 2-for-4 and Brady Sand 1-for-3 with a third inning solo home run.
