St. Olaf volleyball lost another close one, losing in five games to second-place Concordia-Moorhead Friday night at Concordia, capping off an 0-3 start in conference play.

The Oles started strong with a 30-28 victory in the first game, but followed up the win with two consecutive losses, 17-30 and 16-30. After winning the fourth game 30-25 St. Olaf had a chance coming down the stretch but could not complete the victory and lost the final game of the match 10-15. Remarkably, the loss marked St. Olaf's first defeat by Concordia in nearly 10 years.

Sophomore Andrea Otteman (Ames, Iowa) led the Oles once again with 16 kills, while Audrey Volstad (Hanley Falls, Minn./Yellow Medicine East) led the team with 52 assists. Ashley Dennis (Billings, Mont./ Sky View) had a match high 27 digs, but her defensive stand was not enough to hold off the Cobbers.

St. Olaf is now 0-3 in the conference and 4-7 overall.

Concordia extended its winning streak to 11 games this season, they are now 3-0 in conference play and 11-1 overall.

St. Olaf heads to St. Joseph Saturday afternoon to take on the College of St. Benedict, and will battle Augsburg at home Wednesday night.
