Kleckner is a Capital One Academic All-District honoree

St. Olaf senior golfer Vanessa Kleckner was named to the Capital One Academic All-District at-large team on Friday.

Kleckner posted a 3.98 GPA with majors in biology and mathematics and a concentration in biomedical studies. In October, she won the individual title at the MIAC's to lead the Oles to the first team championship in school history. This year, she had five top 20 finishes in the eight events she participated.

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) vote on the awards. CoSIDA began this program in the 1950's, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports and across all divisions with these elite Capital One Academic All-America? scholar-athlete honors. Currently, CoSIDA honors Academic All-Americans in 12 sports.

- Women's Crew
- Men's and Women's Fencing
- Women's Field Hockey
- Men's and Women's Golf
- Men's and Women's Gymnastics
- Men's and Women's Ice Hockey
- Men's and Women's Lacrosse
- Men's and Women's Rifle
- Men's and Women's Skiing
- Men's and Women's Swimming
- Men's and Women's Tennis
- Men's Volleyball
- Men's and Women's Water Polo
- Men's Wrestling

Voting for Academic All-District (First, Second and possible Third Team members are named) is done by current CoSIDA members. Those who obtain First Team All-District status move onto the national Academic All-America ballot.
