HAM LAKE, Minn. - J.R. Shimpach shot a tournament field best two-under par 70 in the final round to finish ninth overall (tie) with teammate Jonathan Walsh as the St. Olaf men's golf team was fourth among 13 schools at the Augsburg Fall Inviational on Sunday.

After making two bogies in a three hole stretch on the front nine, Shimpach played the final 12 holes four-under par. He came in at 33 to shave 12 strokes off his first round 82.

Walsh was steady all weekend, shooting a 78 on Saturday and a two-over par 74 on Sunday. The Oles' Ryan Heide was one stroke behind the duo with his two-day 153 (76-77, +9) to finish alone in 11th.

St. Olaf was 16 strokes off team champion Gustavus and a mere four strokes off the pace of second place Luther College. The Oles will compete next at the SJU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Sartell and Sauk Centre, Minn.
