Manning's goal and assist sends Ole women to 2-0 win at Saint Mary's

WINONA, Minn.- Annie Manning notched a goal and an assist as the St. Olaf women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon in Winona.
Amanda Leone opened the scoring in the 10th minute to give the Oles an early lead. Leone's first goal of the year came off an assist by Manning.
The Cardinals kept St. Olaf's lead at 1-0 until the 82nd minute when Manning made it 2-0. Manning's first goal of the year came unassisted and gave the Oles some breathing room.
The Oles outshot the Cardinals 18-5 for the game, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Leone had five shots for St. Olaf and Kajsa Brindley added four. Five Saint Mary's players had one shot each.
Nora Forbes saved both of the Cardinal shots on goal to pick up the shutout. Miranda Halling made seven saves for Saint Mary's in the loss. St. Olaf improves to 4-2-0, 2-0-0 MIAC and Saint Mary's remains winless (0-6-0, 0-2-0 MIAC).
The Oles next game is at home against Wartburg on Tuesday afternoon. After that game, St. Olaf hits the road for four straight games, three of which are against MIAC foes.
