Men's golf fifth at 20-team SJU Fall Invitational

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. - Junior Ryan Heide (77-70, +3) finished in a tie for eight place as the St. Olaf men's golf team ended the two-day event in fifth place on Sunday at Greystone Golf Club.

Sophomore J.R. Shimpach (75-74, +5) finished in 13th in the event for St. Olaf, which tied nationally-ranked University of St. Thomas. The latest Division III rankings will be released on Monday.

The University of Manitoba, who won the event, is not a NCAA institution.

St. Olaf will be in action next October 6-8 at the MIAC Championships in Coon Rapids, Minn.
