Men's soccer blanked by North Park 1-0

CHICAGO, Ill.- Host North Park University got a first-half goal from Jonas Pettersson and held the St. Olaf men's soccer team scoreless in the second of back-to-back games for the Oles to claim a 1-0 non-conference win on Saturday night.
Pettersson's goal came at the 14:46 mark of the opening half with the assist to Mike Herbst. The goal was Pettersson's team-leading fourth of the season.
The Oles outshot the Vikings 20-13 over the course of the game but could not find a way past North Park goalie Tim Ahlberg. Ahlberg made 12 saves to pick up the win.
Defender Stephen Johnson led St. Olaf with four shots, three of which were on goal. Nine different Oles registered a shot on net. In the second half, the Oles had six corner kicks and several free kicks in dangerous areas but were unable to convert.
The Vikings (4-2-1) were led by Carl Damberg, Dennis Persson, and Fredrik Greiff's two shots each. St. Olaf keeper Harry Ullmann picked up the loss despite making eight saves.
St. Olaf (4-3-1, 1-0-1 MIAC) returns to MIAC action with a home game on Wednesday against Hamline. Hamline is currently 2-5-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the conference.
