Oles lose twice at Wartburg tournament

WAVERLY, Iowa - The St. Olaf volleyball team lost twice on Friday at Wartburg's Knights Classic, losing a four-set match to Nebraska Wesleyan in the afternoon before a three-set sweep to 15th-ranked Wartburg.

St. Olaf (7-13) had four in double digits for kills in the tournament opening loss to Nebraska Wesleyan. Melissa Burch led the way with 15 on 51 attempts, while Ari Carlson, Kelly Heissel and Katie Wolfram had 11 each. NWU's Katelyn Walsh had a match-best 23 kills on 47 attempts with only three errors.

No. 15 Wartburg jumped to large leads in each of the three sets to top the Oles in the nightcap. Wolfram had 10 kills for St. Olaf and Britlyn Sieck 16 for the host Knights (18-3).
