Concordia defeats Ole women 6-0

NORTHFIELD, Minn.- Concordia scored three goals in each half to defeat the St. Olaf women's soccer team 6-0 on Saturday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field.

The win clinched the MIAC regular season for the Cobbers (12-3-1, 8-1-0 MIAC). The Oles (6-6-4, 4-3-2 MIAC) are currently fifth, one spot out of the playoffs. St. Olaf is two points behind fourth-place St. Ben's.

Gina Weiss led Concordia with two goals and Sarah Rounds added a goal and two assists. Marta and Laura Prosinski and Jessica Scherr also scored for the Cobbers.

The Cobbers scored early through Laura Prosinski in the 8th minute and added two more goals before the break. Rounds and Weiss scored in the space of five minutes early in the second half, before Marta Prosinski capped the scoring.

Concordia outshot St. Olaf 14-1 for the game and got all 14 shots on goal. Cobber goalie Ali Nelson saved Kajsa Brindley's shot for the Oles.

St. Olaf looks to climb back into the fourth spot on Wednesday as the team hosts Bethel (8-5-3, 5-2-2 MIAC) at 3:30 p.m. The Royals are currently tied for second with Augsburg.
