Auggies use shorthanded goals to beat Ole men

BLAINE, Minn. - Augsburg's B.J. McClellan scored a pair of shorthanded goals midway through the third period as the Auggies defeated St. Olaf 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Fogerty Arena in the first round of the MIAC Men's Hockey Showcase.
The shorthanded scores gave Augsburg broke a 1-1 tie to give the Auggies a 3-1 lead. The Oles responded with a Jeff Harris goal with 3:27 left in regulation, but the Auggies held on for the win.
Dan Cecka had the Oles' other goal, a power play score at the 4:02 mark of the second period.
McClellan had all three goals for the Auggies in the win. He scored at 1:36 of the first and had the two shorthanded scores at 11:56 and 12:21 of the third.
St. Olaf plays St. Thomas tomorrow at 4 p.m.
