Burch, Carlson earn All-MIAC volleyball honors

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf seniors Melissa Burch and Ari Carlson were named All-MIAC on Wednesday, the league announced.

Burch, a first-time honoree, had a career-year in her final season. The Lawrence, Kan.-native led St. Olaf in kills (335), kills/set (2.79) and eclipsed 1,000 career kills earlier this month. She finished with 1,084 which ranks 10th all-time at St. Olaf.

Carlson earned her third All-MIAC honor. In three seasons at St. Olaf, she had 846 kills. THis season, she hit .244 with 2.10 kills/set while leading the team in blocks (92).

St. Olaf finished third in the MIAC to reach the MIAC Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
