18th-ranked Ole women to host NCAA Division III Central Region Championships

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The No. 18 St. Olaf women's cross country team will run at home this weekend when St. Olaf hosts the NCAA Division III Central Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
The Oles, ranked third in the region, are one of six MIAC teams ranked in the Central's top 10. No. 15 Gustavus, which edged the Oles in the MIAC Championships on Oct. 27 is second, while No. 29 Carleton, St. Thomas and Saint Benedict come in at fifth, sixth and seventh.
The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, No. 9 Wartburg College, comes in as the region's top-ranked team.
St. Olaf had six runners in the top 25 at the MIAC's led by Jorden Johnson and Emma Lee, who were second and third. The Oles went head-to-head with 16 in-region foes in a win at the Sept. 15 St. Olaf Invitational and about a dozen, including Wartburg in a third place run at Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 29.
The women's race will begin at 12 p.m. The men's race starts at 11 a.m.
