Ole men open 2012-13 with win at Bethany Lutheran

MANKATO, Minn. - First year Riley Aeikens had 17 points off the bench as St. Olaf picked up a 74-66 men's basketball victory at host Bethany Lutheran College in the season opener for each school on Thursday night.
Aeikens went 5-for-8 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range, as St. Olaf overcame a five-point halftime deficit. Connor Gunderson added 13 points on a perfect 5-for-5 night shooting, while Josh Pratt had 12 points and three assists and Sterling Nielsen nine points, four assists and five rebounds.
Garet Tucker had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead four Vikings who scored in double digits.
St. Olaf shot 47.6 percent (10-for-21) from three and 52.0 percent (26-of-50) from the field in the win.
