Women's hockey tops Pipers

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf had goals from Margot Fleming, Shea Noerenberg and Tara Reyelts in a 3-1 MIAC women's hockey win over Hamline University on Saturday night.

Fleming's goal came at 7:25 of the first on an assist from Alison Umland, who also assisted on Noerenberg's power-play goal at 14:38 of the second.

Leading 2-1, St. Olaf added insurance on Reyelts' goal at 9:32 of the third, on assists from Kira Clunis and Courtney Nelson.

Hamline got on the board with a Corinne Henning tally at 18:57 of the second.

St. Olaf held a sizable advantage in shots -- 46-28 -- and went 2-for-5 on power plays. The Oles' Ali McKeever made 27 saves to get her third win (3-2-0) of the season.

The Oles play at UW-River Falls on Tuesday before returning to MIAC play on Nov. 30 with the first of two games against Saint Mary's University.
